UK R&B:Soul Artists To Watch In 2021 Website.jpg

The second genre on the ‘Artists To Watch in 2021’ Series is UK R&B/Soul. This is a genre that we will be focusing on moving forward as a platform and blog, so if you're into your smooth melodies, and laid back beats be sure to give us a follow on our social pages, and bookmark the website! There are currently a good amount of well-known talents in the UK R&B/Soul scene such as Celeste, Mahalia, Scribz Riley, Giveon, RIMON, however, we’ve decided to go with some lesser-known up-and-coming artists on this one; as we’re guessing you already know the bigger names if your reading this article.

We really hope you find some new music, and artists to listen to and follow through this post, and please remember to support the artists if you dig their music, as it’s tough out there for creatives at the moment (with Covid-19 and that)! Let’s get into this:

1. Akemi Fox

After Akemi Fox’s most recent release Colour You In EP, we are incredibly excited to see what unfolds for the talented Manchester-based RnB vocalist in 2021. The chemistry between Akemi and producer Teo is something special, and we think 2021 could be a big year for the duo!

2. Reuben James

How could I not include the multitalented Reuben James right? His voice and style is somewhat reminiscent of early Anderson Paak, and I’m all here for it. His last release Slow Down EP was one of our favourite RnB/Soul projects of 2020, and we’re excited to see what’s in store for the versatile artist heading into the new year.

3. LANDEL

The Birmingham based up-and-coming artist LANDEL is certainly an exciting prospect going forward. His last release The Sunset EP immediately caught our attention, after coming across it on Spotify, and we’ve had his music on repeat ever since finding him. We’re really hoping that 2021 will be the breakout year for multitalented artist!

4. BINA.

The soulful, graceful RnB artist from South London; BINA chooses to ‘freestyle’ to most of her songs, which adds more depth and soul to her music; which is very dope. Her latest release Humble Abode EP was a great taster of what’s to come for the talented Alternative RnB singer in the future. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on her progression as an artist going forward as shes been releasing quality music since 2018.

5. Joya Mooi

Joya Mooi is the definition of smoothness! The talented singer took us on an elegant, graceful musical journey on her previous release Blossom Carefully EP, and we’re excited to see what she has in store for 2021.

6. Kaywavey

Kaywavey is nothing other than wavey. I came across his music on Instagram, and I’ve been bumping it ever since… His style is the perfect blend of RnB, Wavey, and Trap, and I’m all here for it. We’re really hoping that 2021 will be a breakout year for the up-and-coming artist, as he definitely deserves it!

7. MaZz

MaZz has managed to make her mark on the UK music scene pretty early on in her career, which is well deserved. Based in Kent, the singer-songwriter released a collaborative EP with producer phil back in March (2020) named overcast., which was a soothing blend of laid back RnB beats and raw, emotive vocals.

8. Jayd’n Dominique

The multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer from North London released The Break Up EP back in October, and I can assure you that this man is going places. Jayd’n Dominque is definitely someone who will be on our radar going into 2021, and he should be on yours!

9. RADA

RADA is part of the 237 mob, which is a musical collective made up of other up and coming talented artists like KISH!, Virgil Hawkins and Donalee. Considering that the talented RnB vocalist from London is yet to release an album or EP, its impressive that she has already started to make her mark in the UK music scene. Rada has a chilled, smooth, soulful tone which oozes good vibes, and we’re excited to see what 2021 holds for the talented R&B vocalist and the rest of the 237 mob.
