Raelle - ‘Wake Up Sunshine EP’ Out Now
Emerging South-London singer/songwriter Raelle just released her highly-anticipated debut EP ‘Wake Up Sunshine’ on all major streaming platforms. The soul-inspired 4-track project is featureless, and takes the listener on a journey of self-discovery, exploring themes of emotion and vulnerability that come with it.
The EP kickstarts with self-titled track “Wake Up Sunshine”, which offers angelic harmonies and smooth vocals over an entrancing drum groove and gentle harp. The lead single “Purple Skies” made it onto one of our most recent ‘Vibes Of The Week’ lists, and is as smooth as butter'. “Sunrise” is a captivating slow jam addressing themes of loneliness and uncertainty; this one really takes the listener on a journey back in time to the good old days of Neo-Soul. Finally, the project draws to a close with “Sundown”, a personal reflection on a lost relationship, where Raelle assesses how far she’s come since the loss and how she is ‘alone but never lonely. All-in-all this EP is short but sweet. If I could define quality over quantity by using a current RnB/Soul Project, ‘Wake Up Sunshine EP’ is certainly one that would spring to mind immediately. This one really is a MUST for all the RnB/Soul heads out there!
