Quinn Oulton x Moses Boyd - “Clashing Colours” Out Now

South London based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist & producer Quinn Oulton teams up with award-winning jazz drummer and musician Moses Boyd on his latest single 'Clashing Colours'. The new groundbreaking single explores deeper shades of soul music, and is lifted from Quinn Oulton’s forthcoming album 'Alexithymia' due to drop this May! Be sure to stream “Clashing Colours” below, if you haven’t already:

“Clashing Colours” is a breathtaking blend of Moses Boyd’s raw percussion, organic drum patterns and all-around otherworldly production, and Quinn Oulton’s soulful vocal range, heartfelt delivery and tangled-electronic acoustic textures. This delightful, delicate fusion of angelic soul and dreamy jazz is right up there with our favourite releases of 2022 so far, due to the individuality and calming nature of the track. It’s really incredible to me how Deep Matter signee Quinn Oulton continues to carve out a unique musical style that cannot be pigeonholed or categorised… His sound is always deeply distinctive and experimental, which makes total sense when you consider the journey that he has taken to reach this point in his musical career!

Some kind words from Moses Boyd in relation to Quinn Oulton and his new single “Clashing Colours”, and personal insight from Quinn Oulton regarding his forthcoming album:

Moses Boyd: "Quinn is one the most exciting artists and musicians I've worked with. It's a pleasure to be a part of his journey both on and off the stage. This song truly encapsulates his ability to bring all of his artistic elements together in such a meaningful way. I'm excited to see what more he has in store."

Quinn Oulton: “My album ‘Alexithymia’ dissects events from different relationships, whether family, friends, or romantic, presented as a single story from start to finish. Obsession, frustration, passion, false hope, grief, self-pity, helplessness, and acceptance are all part of this story. I wrote it in this way because I was trying to work out why I connect so much with sad or melancholic music, and I realised that maybe listening to that music was filling a hole that I didn’t know I had. It was comforting to hear somebody process their own troubles outwardly when I didn't feel I had a way, or even a reason, to do so myself. Writing the album has been an extremely therapeutic process as I've been able to seek out difficult parts of my life that I'd buried because I couldn't process them at the time”.
